The UT College of Medicine Chattanooga and its partner and major affiliated clinical training site, Erlanger Health System, in conjunction with the UTC School of Nursing and the Veterans Administration National Patient Safety Center, are pleased to invite you to our Annual Faculty Development Conference -- this year focusing on Patient Safety education for the health care team. This is a unique conference and is the first multi-disciplinary conference of its kind for the Chattanooga area health care community. Conference faculty and staff are being provided by Douglas Paull, MD, Director of the VA National Patient Safety Center, and the UTC School of Nursing and its Simulation Center.
All sessions will be located in the UTC School of Nursing and its Simulation Center located at the corner of Oak and Houston Streets. Parking will be provided at no charge in the lot just outside the entrance of the School of Nursing building on Oak Street. All costs are being underwritten by the three sponsors so there is no registration fee.
Accreditation: The University of Tennessee College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
AMA Credit: The University of Tennessee College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nursing CEU Credit:
The UTC Office of Continuing Education is providing CEU credit for nursing registrants.
This one day conference will be offered and repeated on three separate days
Registrants should only attend one day. We ask that you select one morning session and a "lunch/afternoon simulation session" from any of the three days. Morning sessions can accomodate up to 70 registrants each day, but lunch and afternoon simulations are limited to only 30 registrants each afternoon. Afternoon registrants will be provided a boxed lunch that they may eat during a video and discussion session about "Safe Hand-Off Strategies." Please register as soon as possible to reserve your space.
Who should attend: Physician Faculty, Senior Resident Physicians, Nursing Faculty, Advanced Nursing Students, and VA Physicians and staff.
